The annual Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) is an interdisciplinary graduate student-run conference that showcases astounding research of graduate and professional students. The theme of GRS is Learning Across Disciplines. Such encompasses presentations from various areas of study within graduate certificate, master’s, and doctoral programs. We encourage all graduate students who are conducting or have concluded research to present at the GRS. Presenting affords students the opportunity to share findings, gain experience in presenting scholarly research, and represent our various graduate programs. An additional incentive to all participants is the option to have your presentation judged by an multidisciplinary panel of faculty and expert judges for a monetary prize. We hope to have over 100 presentations this year!
The GRS Planning Committee extends an invitation to the students of other UNC System schools with hopes of highlighting the important work of all graduate students statewide and enjoy a one-day opportunity to network and honor all achievements collectively. Visiting scholars will have a $40 registration fee which will include a program, parking, and food (i.e. a continental breakfast, lunch, and the Awards Reception). Registration will only be assessed in the event your proposal is accepted for presentation.
The Graduate Research Symposium is sponsored by the Graduate & Professional Student Government of UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte Research Institute. Over the years, GRS has been supported by the Dean and staff of The Graduate School, the Center for Graduate Life, and Atkins Library. We are grateful for past sponsorship and support and continue to welcome additional support annually.
Please contact the GRS Chair and GPSG Vice President at 704-687-7163 for more information and to offer sponsorship and support.
